Political notebook: Abortion foe makes campaign stop
When Operation Rescue's "Truth Truck" rolled up Saturday to the Gwinnett County Police Department's headquarters to deliver a letter, gubernatorial hopeful Neal Horsley was waiting in the parking lot. Horsley, who said he came to Lawrenceville to campaign, had set up posters with images of aborted fetuses. The Carrollton resident, who has no political experience, said he plans to outlaw abortion in this state if he is elected. He said he promises to nullify the federal law that makes abortion legal and create a state militia so "no one can go in there (clinics) and kill babies in this state." By making abortion legal, people made themselves God's "mortal enemies," Horsley said. "The use of force is called for when little babies are legally being ripped limb from limb," he said. "If we don't do that, God's going to destroy this state." Staff writer Heather Darenberg contributed to this report. Political Notebook appears in the Thursday and Sunday editions of the Gwinnett Daily Post. Camie Young can be reached via e-mail at camie.young@gwinnettdailypost.com. |

Talk about creepy!
Read that article again. Here's this old guy who says God is going to destroy Georgia unless abortion is outlawed.
Know what's even creepier? When people see God start doing it.
The article above doesn't talk about the critical point I made in my discussion with the young reporter. She had asked me why I thought people would support the radical solution I promise to bring to the abortion problem, and I said, "Well, we've had a drought in this State that everyone's started to notice. The God I work for is the One who is in charge of making rain. It is a fact that if we don't get a lot of rain by this coming summer (I emphasized the words like that), the people of Georgia could well be in more trouble than we've been in since the Civil War. We could truly be in grave danger. I want people to know why this is happening. I'm here to tell the people of Georgia that we've made ourselves the enemy of God, The Creator. When we presumed to usurp His Right to be the One who causes miscarriages and live births, we made ourselves His mortal enemy. He's been real patient with us. But His patience is running out. He is going to destroy this State and this nation unless we stop this legalized murder we call abortion."
As I was talking, I could tell that the young reporter wanted to believe what I was saying was so preposterous as to be border-line insane, but, well, there was that problem of water. I could see her feel in her bones what it was like to live in the ruthless heat of a Georgia summer. And I could see her realize that, no matter what she'd like to think about what she was hearing, there was no way to deny that she might have just heard one of the most serious messages she had ever encountered as a reporter. So instead of treating me like an insane man, she treated me like an unusual old man who was somehow still respectable.
Why did she treat me with respect? Who among us can deny that, no matter what we say about God, it is a fact that NOBODY has proven there is not somebody out there without a body but who is still able to say, Let there be light, and light appears; who can say, Let there be rain, and rain appears; who can say, Let there be death, and the whole world dies. Who can deny there MIGHT BE a God out there with a literally infinite variety of ways to destroy His enemies.
It is this God I talk about when I go on the campaign trail.
No wonder people don't want to hear about my campaign. I bring terrible news, ghastly news, news I don't want to hear myself. But I must say the things I say. There is always a chance that as God brings His Wrath on this land because of the blood of innocent babies we have poured here, blood that is creating a dark and evil swamp filled with evil creatures whose very breath brings forth toxic pestilence that fills the land, there is always a chance that people will ask, as the people asked Peter on the day of Pentacost, "What must we do to be saved."
Today the answer is the same as then. That's the good news I also intend to bring in my upcoming campaign appearances.
Obviously I need your support. One wag once said, "In politics, there's two things that's important. Money...and I forget the other one.
