EXPOSING EVIL IN OUR NATION'S CAPITAL

(Christian Gallery News Service, January 20, 2005) Missionaries to the PreBorn of Milwaukee settled in for the first of three days of picketing and literature drops in the DC area.

Accustomed to the bitter cold coming off Lake Michigan, they were well-prepared for temperatures that never rose above the mid-20's and the sudden snowfall that froze the District and out-lying areas. Undeterred by weather that sent most locals running for warmth, the Missionaries began their day on the streets outside the District before moving on to the Supreme Court Building. This reporter was hampered by traffic and did not join up with the Missionaries until they left the Supreme Court and settled in on Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, Maryland.

The Silver Spring Police Department was less than happy to see this group of "radicals" deploy along 5 blocks of an otherwise uneventful business area of the city. There was some back and forth discussion with the Police and the Missionaries, and it was finally decided that they could indeed exercise their rights.

The Missionaries set up signs warning of the graphic posters to follow at the head of each display on either side of the road. There were some supportive honks, and from what I saw, very few displays of disapproval.

One woman did take great offense at seeing the results of "Choice" and sprayed one poster with green spray paint; but these experienced protesters took it in stride, and for those of you who remember the "March for Death" last spring, you might remember that some DC locals have an affinity for "painting" our signs.

As they were in Silver Spring during lunchtime, the Missionaries were able to give out a good amount of literature to pedestrian traffic and with the snowfall slowing traffic to a crawl, they were also able to give literature to many drivers.

With their normal efficiency and eye to detail, the Missionaries laid out an excellent visual display along the roadway which ensured that anyone driving through that section of town could not escape the horror of abortion, and God's intervention with the weather ensured the drivers could not blindly speed past the truth being shown from the roadside.

After disrupting the societal apathy of Silver Spring over the lunch hour, the Missionaries proceeded to the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception for another roadside display in the District. As DC rush hour begins almost as soon as lunch is over, the Milwaukee crew was well positioned to expose thousands to images of the truth. The picture was surreal, the beauty of the Basilica covered in fresh snow fronted by the atrocity of legalized murder, but truth is something to be heralded, especially when it exposes something so horrendous and pushes into the face of those who would rather bury their heads in the sand.

Again, there were some who shouted epithets, some signs of support, and with traffic slower than normal, the Missionaries were able to give out a great deal of information to people driving by.

As always, it was a pleasure to see the Missionaries in action and we are happy to have them in DC to help remind people of the need for individuals as well as government to intervene in this modern holocaust.

I will be following the Missionaries as they reveal the truth to the inaugural masses tomorrow in our nation's capital and stay with them as they return to the streets on Friday. This report will be capped by coverage of the March for Life where a special group will proclaim the validity of Defensive Action as demonstrated by Paul Hill and so many others who have acted in direct defense of their pre-born neighbors.
