Are The Christians You Know Unconfessed Murderers?

"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?" 1 Peter 4:17

Look apostasy in the face today and you will find it looks like virtually every Christian congregation in this nation. Look closer I say, and you will see that unconfessed sin is woven into every activity of that apostate body, woven into the activities of virtually every congregation of Christians in the United States of America today. Let me prove it to you.

All it takes for a Christian to become an apostate Christian is to refuse to confess sin.

Only people who have access to the Holy Spirit will have the slightest chance to understand what the Apostle John meant when he said: "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Essentially, John is telling us that people who call themselves Christians must be willing to see their sin and confess their sin, or their actions demonstrate that Jesus Christ does not save them.

A huge percentage of the people who call themselves Christians in this generation have participated in murdering people and have not confessed their sin. This fact was driven home to me a short time ago when my mother, a woman who has been a steadfast supporter of local congregations of Christians all her life, lowered her voice and told me that she personally knew of two "well-respected" Christian families who, when faced with the pregnancy of someone in their families, had "prayed about it" and had been instrumental in the newly conceived babies being aborted.

"Prayed about it..." My mother utterly failed to sense the total blasphemy involved in the actions she described. Here we had Christians who claimed to have prayed to God about whether to kill the child God had conceived to be born, and then had gone ahead and killed that child, inferring that God had given them permission to do so!

For many years I had known about the involvement of baby-boomers like myself who in their youth had strayed far from the Lord. But my mother was talking about families of people in a Southern Baptist congregation down here in Georgia, people who had always done "the right thing."

Suddenly I saw something that I had not seen before. The sin of murder has contaminated virtually every congregation of Christians in the USA! And those congregations are doing everything in their power to avoid confessing the murder they have entertained in their midst!

This unconfessed sin explains why the murder of the unborn babies continues uninterrupted in this nation. The millions of people who call themselves Christians have been accessories before and after the fact of murder AND THEY HAVE NOT CONFESSED THEIR SIN!

How can they be anything other than apostate bodies? How can they be anything but phony, powerless carnal Christians who cause the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to be blasphemed and mocked in this generation?

They can't. As the Apostle John points out, unless we confess our sins, we quench the Holy Spirit in our lives. We grieve the Holy Spirit and He withdraws Himself from us. All we have left is the pitiful comfort of sinners like ourselves, sinners who are powerless to do anything more than give us the counterfeit "blessings" that come from the strength found in numbers.

And how are the leaders of these "Christians" responding? Look for yourself!

The vast majority of this generation of "Bible believing," "born again," "orthodox" Christians refuse to confess their collaboration and complicity in the slaughter of millions of God's children. That refusal to confess sin makes apostasy inevitable. Not only do they refuse to confess past complicity and collaboration, they justify their continuing collaboration with those who are slaughtering God's authority and God's children by saying their sinful collaboration is the Will of God.

Let me make myself clear: I'm not only talking about those nameless and faceless people in the S. Baptist and other congregations who have actually counseled people to kill God's children, I'm talking about all the Jimmy Carter, Billy Graham, Charles Stanley, Flip Benham, Randall Terry wannabe Christians (fill in the name of your favorite "pro-life" Christian who has failed to publicly becry the horror of their continuing collaboration with this ungodly desecration of God's authority in this generation).

Do you see the point? When we collaborate with this nation and do not confess it as sin, we become apostate by our refusal to confess. In other words, I'm saying as clear as I know how that because those people have refused to face and confess the sin of their ongoing collaboration with those who desecrate God's authority and slaughter His children, if there has ever been an apostate Christian in the history of the world, surely those people are it.

One of the clearest prophesies concerning the End Times is about the Apostasy of the Church. (2 Th 2:3, 4 KJV) "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God."

The shockingly ironic and absolutely macabre truth about these matters is that the very preachers who are so confidently preaching that the End Times have come and predicting the apostasy of the Church are themselves likely to be apostate as apostate can be.

Notice quickly that the presence of sin in the Church is not apostasy. The Church is full of sinners, as virtually everyone--in the world and out--is quick to point out. In fact, it is impossible to be a Christian without first being a sinner. As Jesus said, the righteous do not need a Savior; only the sinner requires One. So Jesus Christ came to create a Church full of sinners.

What is strange to find in the Church is unconfessed sin. Unconfessed sin separates Christians from the Holy Spirit of God because God will not fellowship with unpunished sinners. The punishment of sin begins with the confession of sin. Unconfessed sin grieves the Holy Spirit, quenches the Holy Spirit. As surely as the vast majority of Christians has refused to face their ongoing collaboration with the murder of God's children, just as surely has apostasy settled on the Church in the United States of America. If you are a Christian who is not in prison for resisting legalized abortion and you haven't confessed your daily collaboration with murder in this nation, you are apostate. If you think it is impossible for you to be apostate, understand this: no real, true apostate has ever thought they might be apostate.

Everybody wishes we wouldn't have to say these things. Perhaps our generation might have avoided the kind of horrible judgment that is now being pronounced in our midst. There was a time when Randy Terry and the Operation Rescue movement could have been a phalanx with the power to arrest the slaughter of God's children in this nation. Back in the days before the Federal Government put the FACE laws on the books, had there been a commitment to organizing sufficient numbers of people in coordinated non-violent offensives in every city in the nation, the Court System in the USA could have been so clogged with pro-life cases that the judicial system in this nation could have been brought to its knees.

But sufficient numbers of people were never organized. A coordinated national offensive was never implemented. Instead, sporadic and uncoordinated non-violent forays were launched that were easily absorbed by the Federal and State criminal justice system. In reaction, the Federal government, foreseeing the danger posed by a coordinated national offensive, passed the FACE laws that today make it so costly to engage in non-violent offensives that hardly anybody does it any more.

What I've just said is not news to anybody who has tried to find a way to arrest the desecration of God's authority in this nation, tried to overturn the legalization of child sacrifice in this nation. What I'm about to say will not come as news to those people either, but it might be the first time they've heard anybody say it out loud.

The people who still look to the Operation Rescue type of leaders as a solution to the problems we face are engaged in wishful thinking because those strategies and the people who advocate them are totally bankrupt today. The video in this issue showing Flip Benham and Norma McCorvey is a perfect example of what passes for state of the art pro-life resistance today. But if you will examine what those people are saying, and the solutions they propose, you will see that they actually offer no strategy that has the slightest prospect of actually arresting the legalized slaughter of God's children in the foreseeable future.

Essentially what is being offered as a solution to the desecration of God's authority is a return to the gospel ministry. Listen to Flip Benham and Norma McCorvey and they will tell you that their entire strategy for arresting the slaughter of God's children revolves around the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through people accepting the gospel, the hearts of the people in this nation will be softened and the hearts of stone that now tolerate and participate in the slaughter of God's children will be turned to the obedient heart of those who obey the Lord Jesus Christ. Listening to this strategy, the great majority of Christians in this nation solemnly intone their Amen and Amen and then go about their business of preaching the gospel in exactly the same way it has been preached by the Billy Graham wannabes in this nation ever since the Second World War.

These people must be seen to be what they are, the primary source of confusion in the world today. Those who lead people to believe that murderers and sinners of any variety can be arrested in their sin by the preaching of the gospel are sources of confusion because the preaching of the gospel has never had the power to save anyone until the person hearing the gospel has first been convicted of sin.

In other words, the good news of Jesus Christ is never understood to be good news until the bad news has been heard, grasped and fully comprehended. Those people who think the preaching of the gospel can accomplish the Will of God in this generation when that preaching is not preceded by an effective ministry of the law are totally deceived and confused. When such deceived and confused people become the leaders of God's people, God's people become, as they are today, the primary source of confusion in the world.

You can begin to understand what I am talking about when you listen to what the Apostle had to say about the way followers of Jesus Christ impact the people around them. (2 Cor 2:15, 16 KJV) For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

To grasp what Paul is talking about you must see that there are two distinct processes in view. To those who are perishing, Paul appears as the very smell of death itself. To those who are saved, he smells like life itself.

Unless you understand what Paul is thinking about here, you can spend your life saying sweet and soothing things to the people in this world, thinking all the while you are demonstrating to them the love of God in Christ Jesus, yet in fact be doing nothing except exactly what Satan wants you to do.

All of this comes into focus when we realize that there can be no true faith in Christ Jesus until one has been tried, convicted and punished for sin. When Paul tells the Galatians that "the law is our schoolmaster to lead us to faith in Christ Jesus" he is pointing out what this generation has decided to ignore. The effective ministry of the law is a prerequisite to the ministry of the gospel. To do anything that interferes in the conviction of sin is to actually prevent people from arriving at saving faith in Christ Jesus.

But today in this generation the conviction of sin has been effectively omitted from the ministry of most Christians and most churches in this nation. Instead of doing that which leads people to understand what the love of God in Christ Jesus has saved them from, a cheap and ultimately false gospel is preached that allows people to believe they are saved and in Christ Jesus even when they have never been tried, convicted and punished for their sin.

It is an easy thing, and will become increasingly easy, to get people to become "spiritual" and confess faith in "jesus" when all they have to do is open their mouth and admit they might need a little help ever once in awhile in this busy and perplexing and dangerous place called the world. But to get people to understand what it means to be a candidate for the eternal fires of hell: that's another thing entirely, a thing that people in this generation, Christians included, have omitted from their consciousness.

All you have to do to prove my point is look and see how easily all of us tolerate the legalized slaughter of thousands of God's children each day that passes. And if there is any passing pangs of conscience, there is always the ministry of Flip Benham and Norma McCorvey and all those others whose gospel ministry allows them to believe they are doing the will of God even though nothing they advocate has the slightest ability to actually arrest the slaughter of God's children in this generation. Hardly ever do you hear what the Apostle Paul heard when the Church at Corinth finally understood the sin that plagued it. Listen to Paul describe their reaction. 2 Cor 7:11 " See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done. At every point you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter."

How often do you hear Christians in this nation confessing the godly sorrow that we all should be feeling because of our continuing collaboration with the slaughter of God's children? Do you see the "indignation" the "alarm" that Paul spoke about? If you don't, you can know for certain that those people have not repented of their sin; they have not reached that "godly sorrow" Paul spoke about and they are as apostate as Ananias and Sapphira because of it.

If you are tempted to think I am a hypocrite because I am not in prison yet claim to not be apostate, read what a clear confession of sin looks like in the article, "I Am A Murderer."
