But be of good cheer. We are yet here. We are encouraged by the kind letters of support. May God bless you as you draw near to Him and His people, fulfilling the call He has on your lives to love the brethren and seek justice for the oppressed. Michael Bray
There were those beasts of the distant past which ruled as kings by virtue of their physical strength. One type of ravenous lizard did whatever he wanted, imposing his will upon the other thunder lizards. But the Tyrannosaurus Rex has been maligned. He only did what instinct drove him to do. He intended no harm. He did no evil. "King" is accurate. An autocrat, an authoritarian was he; but no tyrant. We ought to make a distinction between an autarchy or authoritarian regime and tyranny. The former wields the same unlimited power, but not necessarily harshly or unjustly as would the tyrant. He may be as Machiavelli's prince, exercising power for the good of the people, without listening to a nattering congress of nabobs, for example. It is not the concentration of power which is in se evil.
Consider the authoritarian ruler who allows no community or state within his realm to maintain independent militias to protect themselves from him in the event of his misrule. He would be an authoritarian ruler, though not necessarily a tyrant. So it was when our states confederated for the purpose of forming the national government that the provision in the Second Amendment the states to maintain their own militias as a means of protecting themselves from encroachments by the federal government or any other government was a right that was "not to be infringed." But as time passed and states fought together as a nation against common enemies, power and dignity was ceded to the general government and it gradually accursed powers never intended by its founders.
It would be bad enough if a national government denied the States their sovereign right to protect themselves -- if it denied citizens the right to keep arms and form militias. It would be an authoritarian act, a usurpation of authority. And, perhaps, few people are bothered by such a transformation into a federal autarchy as long as it performs the good of protecting citizens from common enemies. But when the centralized government denies citizens not only the right to bear arms and protect themselves from it, but also the ability to defend themselves form the common threat of muggers and street thugs, such a government is not just authoritarian, but tyrannical. The federal tyrant in all three of his divisions has violated his covenant with the People: the Constitution. He has cast aside the Tenth Amendment, usurping powers which have not been delegated him by the states. He has compelled community schools to cease from publicly honoring the true God. He has forced states against their own law codes to accept childslaughter, even forced them to pay for these atrocities with the money taken from citizens through taxation. He has forced communities to tolerate sodomy in the name of "civil rights." He has propagated atheism through his financial support of godless k-12 education and perverse art. He has propagated polytheism, by his extension of tax-exemption to devotees of any and all gods including sodomite and Satanic churches. He has encouraged and financed sexual immorality through his indiscriminate dissemination of contraceptive devices. Though he followed the false prophet known as Mohammed, the words of Khomeni were true which called the United States a "Great Satan." That is what our central government has become. It has shamed the stars and stripes. It has broken covenant. The people of the land, if they are not too spiritually abject may rightfully throw off this usurping, illegitimate government. May God enable the citizens of the various States to recognize the fact that the Clinton regime is the true fruit of our apostate central government. And may He grant them the strength and spirit to declare their independence and extricate themselves from its tentacles. Unlikely! Indeed, some cities are as desiccate of Christian principle as the federal government. They cheer the direction of the federal regime. Consider the graphic example of San Jose which wants to erect a statue of the pagan god, Quetzalcoatl, to whom thousands of humans were sacrificed every year. And there are plenty of environmentalist and multi-cult champions of "Native Americans" and their gods throughout the land who wish to return the land to its pre-Christian domination by demons. A great error was made even in the formation of the national government when the triune God was not acknowledged specifically as the Lawgiver. The states had hoped to retain their Christian status while binding themselves together with a non-Christian covenant for purposes of protection and economic liberty from Britain. We can't help but concur with those who find it difficult to envision the federal government declaring itself to be under God, much less the triune God of the Bible. We do, however, hope that God's people can exert influence in smaller municipalities so that they may make new covenants, write new constitutions, and secede from alliances with Godless governments. And how shall this come about? It is the pattern of History that God destroys nations and rebuilds or replaces them. We can look to the opportunity that destruction brings: reconstruction. Destruction of our government may well come by the same circumstances which issued in its inception: economics. A monetary collapse has often been spoken of -- even world-wide economic chaos -- in recent decades. Henry Kissinger warned of one in 1973. As recent as 1987 Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan said the nation was closer to a monetary collapse "than we would like to believe" (Washington Times, July 2, 1994). When there is life threatening chaos in society, people are ready for radical change. There will be opportunity in the future to re-establish Christendom. What kind of novus ordo seclorum will be put in place? Will we be ready to act? Will we establish an even better Christian order than the colonists established? Or will we let the opportunity slip away and find ourselves replacing one bad political order with a worse one? Let us press on, knowing that God is working His plan whether or not we are faithful. There is always work to be done. Families and churches need to be strengthened so that the new culture will have credible and effective advocates.
Christianity Today editor at large Philip Yancy is a fine writer. But his article reporting an interview with Bill Clinton in the April 25 issue was infested with that journalistic neutrality which just can't seem to make a judgment (i.e. discriminate between good and evil). What is the point of presenting a few hundred thousand Christian subscribers with disarming information about Clinton's "Christian faith"? Yancy tells us that while a youth, Bill "asked a Sunday-school teacher to drive him 50 miles to attend a Billy Graham crusade" and that "from then on Clinton set aside nickels and dimes to send to Graham." And "schoolteachers thought Bill himself might grow up to be an evangelist."
Yes, and Yancy tells us that Bill reads the Bible and Tony Campolo and that one Christian college president is "absolutely convinced of his deep and sincere faith." Yeah. Moreover "another evangelical guest at the White House claimed that the President... has a very high view of Scripture." More hope. Yancy quotes former editor of Falwell's Fundamentalist Journal, Edward Dobson on Clinton: "I believe he's more deeply spiritual than any president we've had in recent years." If there is cause for sympathy for Clinton's godlessness, perhaps it rightfully stems from the vapid, undiscerning, Billy Grahamish evangelicalism of which he is a ripe product. But he remains as wrong as sin, and sure as hell he will be judged for his deeds along with the indiscriminate evangelicals who produced and excused him. Better Journalism Life Advocate featured the story of almost-euthanized Ronald Comeau, who was spared by the grace of Rev. Mike McHugh of Vermont along with some other anti-abortion activists (March, 1994). The story is well told by Wesley J. Smith in National Review (April 4, 1994). Paula Jones What's a feminist to do? We encourage helping them escape the quandary and think straight. Order our bumper sticker: "I Believe Paula Jones." Where is the credulity that came so easily for Anita Hill? Kicking The Ass Of FACE
It is tough to know what to do in response to recent 'bort defecations which seem to be smothering the activity of anti-abortionists: application of Rico to antiabortion activists (Scheidler); denial of speech against abortion within 36 feet of the abortuary (Madsen); tort damages against Rescue America awarded to an abortuary in Houston; and, most notably, the excretion of FACE by the 'borts through their collective anus, the Congress. To kick or not to kick? The first kick came from the Missionaries in Milwaukee. On June 4, seven Christians blocked abortuary doors with cars, pipes and concrete. (There were no incendiaries in the missionaries' pipes or cars.) A small meal for the federal anti-Christ Beast, who is turning his appetite increasingly upon Christians in the American arena. Milwaukee
In other good news from Milwaukee, Abortionist Milton Tarver became the fourth killer to cease operations either by deceasing or quiting. Mr. Tarver suffered a stroke. Only four abortionists continue operations as the local church-based Missionaries to the Preborn press on. We commend the faithful pastoring of Matthew Trewhella, his fellow pastors such as Mike Skott, and all the saints co-laboring there. Smoke There is evidence that smoking decreases the risk of Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, osteoarthritis, and other ailments. (Peter Brimelow in recent Forbes, noted in National Review, July 11, 1994, p. 10). Now, your editor has never smoked a cigarette. However, he smokes a cigar whenever one of his children are born. (He shall have smoked at least eight cigars, therefore, by January of 1995, thanks be to Lord of Life.) But now, with the onslaught of the anti-smoking campaign from the PC pack, your asthma-afflicted editor is sorely torn. The question is not an easy one from the standpoint of health. Your editor doesn't want heart disease (from smoking), but he doesn't want to be mindless as he ages (got Alzheimer's in the ancestral line). Decisions, decisions. I shall wrestle with this tactical question. But know this, my fellows in the resistance who have been driven to smoke as an expression of opposition to PC dominion, we are with you in spirit. Poetry We commend a collection of poems by James Trott: Prisoner's Pardons. Send a few bucks for the pamphlet to Pardons, 6705 N. 11th St., Philadelphia, PA 19126. Pensacola Woman Slaughtered
Pamela Colson, 30, wasn't killed on purpose. She died in a hospital on June 26 after having her child killed at the abortuary where Abortionist Gunn was terminated over a year ago. Like her child who was butchered at the hands of the abortionist, she also bled to death. The national media have not shown the interest in the deaths of this mother and child, as it has in the abortion of Gunn. The police have not closed down the death camp. Rather, Sgt. Potts "said officers were monitoring clinics closely and would be outside both Pensacola clinics" to watch out for villains like Paul Hill, who said he would "redouble my efforts" to help mothers and avoid harm (Pensacola Journal, June 29, 1994). For more accurate information on this homicide and others contact Legal Action For Women, 1145 Candlewood Circle, Pensacola, FL 32514. Good Spankings Singapore's Home Affairs Minister responded to the pious pleadings of Clinton, the AMA, the ABA, and numerous human rights champions regarding the then impending caning of vandalist Michael Fay: "It is absurd that societies so stricken with crime should attempt to apply their standards on us and teach us what to do." (Washington Times, April 24, 1994). Now if true justice requires the death penalty for recidivist delinquents (Dt. 21: 18-21), a little preventative guidance by corporal use of the rod doesn't seem all that barbaric. But then, a President who aborts his own child and taxes people to unwillingly pay for others to abort their own; appoints sodomites to govern the land; and presides over atrocities against his own citizenry (a la Waco) is a President who doesn't know what barbarism is.
