MINING TERRI SCHIAVO

(Christian Gallery News Service, March 23, 2005)  As of this moment, Theresa Shiavo is disconnected from her artificial life support tube without which she will die in a matter of days.  National attention is riveted on the government machinations that will determine whether she dies shortly or will be sustained until some major organ for which there is no available transplant malfunctions and she dies in a manner that leaves no question about her being dead.

Those who, like myself, claim to oppose legalized abortion make up the body politic clamoring to restore Terri to life support so that she will die later rather than sooner.

It is to that body that I address this article.

Be very careful what you ask for in this generation.  By making Terri a perpetual ward of the State, you are creating a precedent and establishing a principle.  The fate of millions more might well be determined based on that precedent and principle.  I caution you now because it could easily turn out that Terri is being used to as a sacrifice on the altar of the god promising this world eternal life, eternal life that bypasses once and for all the Lord Jesus Christ.

To see what I am talking about, you need to understand that there is an industry waiting to explode in this generation.  For want of a better name, I'll call it the industry selling the Fountain of Youth. 

That industry requires one raw commodity: Human Body Components (HBC).

Stem cell research is the very tip of a pyramid that has only begun to be unearthed.  But it does not take much imagination to see that that pyramid might be the largest tower ever imagined to exist on planet earth. That pyramid could make the tower erected on the plain at Shinar, the tower history called Babel, look miniscule in comparison--and the tower at Shinar was reputed to go to heaven itself.

The pyramid I am discussing is certainly going to be unearthed down as far as humanity can dig.

Why am I so certain that the pyramid will be unearthed?  Because LIFE--the veritable Fountain of Youth--is in that pyramid.  And everybody, even Satan himself, is pro-life--as long as the life in question is one's own.

Science is on the verge of a revolution in human life support that simply cannot be stopped as long as the required raw materials are present.

Human Body Components (HBC) provide those raw materials.  Human Life Sustainability is found in Human Body Components (HBC).  Just as automobiles will continue to roll as long as there is oil, so too will the revolution in the Life Sciences continue to roll as long as there are Human Body Components (HBC).

And that is where Terri comes in.

Okay.  I take that back.  Terri will not ever be mined for her HBC.  She will be too famous for that.

It will be the millions who are consigned to State care on the basis of the precedent and principle created by Theresa Shiavo who will be mined to ensure there is no scarcity of HBC for the Fountain of Youth Industry.

What Human Body Components are needed?  Everything from blood, to stem cells, to genes, to bone marrow, to organs, to...okay, here's the short answer: find a book on human anatomy and literally everything in that book will be on the list for the prospectors mining those who follow Terri.

In the gold rush days of 1849, they said, "Thar's gold in them thar hills!"   In the 21st century HBC mines, there will be no similar yokelisms heard.  The HBC "gold" will be discussed in the finely modulated tones of high science and medicine.  It will only be when those terms are translated into the language of the stock market prospectus that the stark reality will emerge and the HBC "gold" will be revealed, gold that consists of eyes, kidneys, stem cells, bone marrow, and a long list of things that are only vaguely being imagined by the medical scientists working today.

Do you see the picture of the future?  "Hospices" that consist of ward after ward of beds peopled by brain dead, machine supported, life forms we once called homo sapiens mined with all the sagacity science can bring to bear so that every vital HBC is uncovered (or will they call it recovered) before the "host unit" is finally disposed of.

You think I am insane?  That people would never do that?  Look in the mirror.  We are a generation conditioned to stand by and accept the slaughter of millions of unborn babies, conditioned so that even though half of our individual spirits know they are human beings like ourselves, we tolerate their legalized slaughter with little more than a moan or a whine in their defense; while the other half of us is already poised to treat the weak and helpless among us as raw meat commodities sold at the grocery store. 

Do you think such a generation cannot be conditioned to accept "brain dead" people being mined for HBC? 

Please!  Don't even pretend you are that dense.

Each day that passes we are told how some cream can remove wrinkles.  If the government approves it, we don't even bother to think where the cream came from or what had to happen for us to receive it.  As long as the government approves it, it must be all right.

Remember that in a democracy with no relationship to the Law of God, the government is nothing more than the will of the majority.  When the majority is a predator feeding off HBC's in accordance with the Law of the Jungle, to trust the government is to trust the beast foretold in Holy Scripture.

Is that what you are asking us to do with Terri Shiavo?

Actually, if you have eyes that see, you will see it is exactly what we are doing with Terri.  Trust her to the government.

Think what people will do if we find out that we can eliminate Alzheimer's with a few needed Human Body Componets.  Think what people will do if we find out we can even arrest the aging process with the right compound of HBC's! 

Perhaps it's too early and you will be able to ignore this forecast.  Perhaps you will be able to forge forward with self-righteous certainty in establishing the Terri Shiavo precedent.  But at least God will know I tried to warn you.  And if you ever wake up as if in a dream and realize you are in a vast ward being mined like the mother lode, remember I cared enough to try to deter it from happening to you.

As for Terri, we best trust her to God Almighty.  He's the only One with either enough love or enough power to take care of her.
