The Sham Resistance of the Georgia Human Life Amendment
(Christian Gallery News Service, Nov 23, 2007) Sham resistance needs to be defined today because the Georgia Right to Life leaders are touting a Constitutional Amendment to the Georgia Constitution as the "forefront of the battle to restore the sanctity of innocent human life."

It is more than ironic--and certainly more than coincidence--that even as the pro-life leaders of Georgia are touting Georgia as the place where legalized abortion is going to be stopped, today in Gwinnett County, Georgia, an affluent Atlanta suburb, Georgia police stopped a truck portraying pictures of aborted babies, arrested the driver and jailed him for three days. The signs were torn off the side of the truck before it was allowed to be removed from impoundment. A press release issued by one of the numerous pro-life groups vying for the name Operation Rescue said, "The Truth Truck was in Georgia because a recently introduced Human Life Amendment is scheduled to be considered by the State Legislature in January. The Truth Truck's mission was to help draw the attention of Georgians to the reality that abortion brutally takes an innocent human life, and emphasize the need to ban the grisly procedure," the press release concluded. In spite of the fact that the Georgia Right to Life organization claims that Georgia is "on the forefront of the battle to restore the sanctity of human life," hardly a mention of the the "Truth Truck's" destruction could be found in the Georgia news media.* (On November 28, five days after the arrest, Georgia press reported the story and it was picked up around the nation. The article you are reading played no small role in shaming pro-life people to move the media to respond). Still there has yet to be discernible public outcry in Georgia. It does not take a prophet to see that the people of Georgia currently have no intention of being the place that outlaws abortion. Yet the pro-life movement across the nation is scampering to participate in the Georgia Human Life Amendment's sham resistance. |
What is going on? Why is the pro-life movement pouring money and people into the State of Georgia?
The answer is obvious for anyone who has been studying the pro-life movement: Georgia is the latest pro-life launch pad for sham resistance, and sham resistance draws the leaders of the pro-life movement like a turd draws a green-back fly.
Such an unsavory analogy is perfectly appropriate. If anybody could ever get the truth about the history of the pro-life movement published, (which of course does not happen because NOBODY, least of all the members of the pro-life movement, wants the sordid historical truth of the pro-life movement exposed to public attention) irrefutable historical facts would prove that the Georgia pro-life "battle" is simply the latest example of sham resistance in an unremitting 34 year litany of sham resistance from the pro-life movement. (To get that assertion in perspective it is necessary to see that the real resistance that has erupted from elements within the pro-life movement, for example, the direct actions taken against the abortion industry--assassination of abortionists, bombings of clinics, non-violent obstruction of access to clinic entrances--inevitably caused the leaders of the pro-life movement to publicly announce that the real resistance was the actions of "extremists" who do not represent the pro-life movement at all and are, as far as the pro-life leaders are concerned, at least as bad if not worse than than the abortionists and the abortion industry itself. This rejection of direct action by the pro-life movement was so effective that virtually all the leaders of direct action who managed to escape imprisonment or death--people like Randall Terry and all his erstwhile followers--effectively recanted their direct action work by merging with the pro-life movement.) Since it is beyond the scope of this article to document the pro-life movement's rejection of every person who has ever taken direct action--real resistance by another name--against the abortion industry, contact me if you need that documentation to remind you of the obvious. And by all means do so, because if you have the love of God even the size of a mustard seed for the least among us, you will train yourself to become sensitive to the difference between sham resistance and real resistance. What is sham resistance? In 1870 John Lubbock wrote The Origin of Civilisation and the Primitive Condition of Man. In it, he recounted examples of the marriage ceremony among primitive peoples. "Among the Esquimaux of Cape York," he wrote, "there is no marriage ceremony further than the boy is required to carry off his bride by main force; for, even, among these blubber eating people, the woman only saves her modesty by a sham resistance, although she knows years beforehand that her destiny is sealed, and that she is to become the wife of the man from whose embraces, when the nuptial day comes, she is obliged by the inexorable law of public opinion to free herself, if possible, by kicking and screaming with might and main, until she is safely landed in the hut of her future lord, when she gives up the combat very cheerfully and takes possession of her new abode." For thirty four years the Christian pro-life movement in the USA has offered exactly the same kind of sham resistance to legalized abortion as that offered by the "bride of the Esquimaux." And just as that form of pagan "marriage" trained young women to become willing whores, the sham resistance to legalized abortion in Georgia's Human Rights Amendment demonstrates how people who claim to be the Bride of Christ are learning to "cheerfully take possession of her new abode" in this world and become the de facto whore of the federal government of the United States of America.
At some level of consciousness--either hidden or open--every adult in the USA knows that an Amendment to a State Constitution, like the Georgia Human Life Amendment that attempts to outlaw abortion, is an utterly sham resistance to abortion because the Supreme Court of the USA controls all laws pertaining to abortion. No State in the union of States has the power today to make any law--even a law that is enshrined in a State Constitution--when that law contradicts the decrees handed down by the ruling majority sitting in the Supreme Court of the United States of America. Unless a State is organized to literally nullify the decrees of the Supreme Court of the USA, any move in that State is nothing more than a sham resistance designed not to actually establish a law but as a teaching tool to put the sentiments of the majority of the people in the State on the public record. For a State to pass such a law in the face of existing US Supreme Court decrees is for that State to engage in exactly the same kind of phony kicking and squealing sham resistance offered by the Esquimaux bride...and every adult in this nation knows it.
People like us who claim to be followers of the Lord Jesus Christ should be ashamed of ourselves for even thinking about such sham resistance. But of course we are not.
No wonder Christians are not ashamed by the sham resistance that has long been the modus operandi, the standard operating procedure of the pro-life movement. Exactly like the sham resistance of the Esquimaux tribe, such sham resistance is required from Christians because everybody knows what is going to happen when the bride finally gets alone with the groom. By going through the motions of the sham resistance, we relieve ourselves of the psychological burden of knowing we have effectively turned one of our daughters into a willing whore, sold her to be turned into breed stock for our species.
And of course it is that end that justifies the means. Common sense, the conventional wisdom, is clear on one thing: Our species must survive: The survival imperative must take precedence over all other considerations and all other theories and all other values: The woman must be made available to the man for breeding purposes. Otherwise our species will not survive.
If you want to know why the pro-life movement continues to invest itself into obvious sham resistances like the Georgia Human Rights Amendment or the recent South Dakota Anti-Abortion Law, all you need to do is look hard and long at the survival imperative. To do anything other than sham resist the federal government of the USA is to violate most clearly and most certainly the survival imperative. In other words, to actually resist rather than sham resist the federal government puts survival itself at risk. All you have to do is look at Iraq and you will see what the federal government does to people who resist it. And if the common sense of the woman throughout history has been sure of one thing, it is this: it is much better in both the short and long run to be willingly raped than to die fighting the raper. All you have to do is relax and learn to enjoy it and you end up with all the benefits that come from being provided for by the big, strong man.
Historically such "common sense" has only been held by women who understood they literally had no means of defending themselves if the men chose to abandon them. Most men held a different conviction about the reality of rape. It was a common understanding among men that it was better to be seen to fight to the death resisting rape than to live after the fact.
Today, as Dylan said, the times they are achangin'. Today, not only are women being trained by the federal government to believe they have the "right" to kill their own children, men are being trained to have sexual intercourse with other men and to see it, not as something that must be fought to the death, but as a delightfully cool way to live their lives.
And the most that Christians in this nation can come up with is sham resistance.
The sham resistance that has been offered by the pro-life movement for most of thirty four years is inevitably going to lead Christians in the USA into a historic crisis of faith. No person who is actually in Christ Jesus can be turned into a whore to any government of this world without at some point realizing what it means to encounter the wrath of the God who is a consuming fire. When that happens, Christians will realize there are some things worse than fighting to the death, and they will begin to organize resistance that is not sham resistance.
If you are sick and tired of following pro-life Christian whores who have sold themselves to the federal government of the USA, contact The Creator's Rights party. We are organizing to fight to defend The Creator's Rights. If you won't contact us because being a federal government whore is all you know how to be, the day will come, and that not too far away, when you will learn what all whores must learn. If it is not too late then, and there is still a United States of America to preserve, join us in showing the world what repentance looks like by restoring God's plan for government in this nation.
